Hi! I'm Shirin (it rhymes with tambourine!)
I'm a soon-to-be Certified Sommelier & Wine Educator, and, like you, I have a deep love and appreciation for wine, its history, production, and, of course, its delectable taste.
A few years ago, at a South African wine tasting in Denver, Colorado, I experienced an unexpected and utterly magical wine moment. I didn't particularly like the wine and I didn't particularly like the cheese it was paired with. But when that dry, crisp, wet stone, grassy, and green apply Sauvignon Blanc melded with that extra briny, gamey goat cheese funk, an alchemical epiphany took place. Yield: the perfect pairing.
Since then, it has been my mission to hunt for these moments, to challenge our wine assumptions, inspire new epiphanies, and provoke our senses in unexpected ways. Flanerie Wine exists to do just that.
